We’re delighted to announce our ongoing partnership with QBE across our personal and commercial motor offering. It was just over one year ago that QBE came on as one of our new capacity providers, and since then our relationship has grown from strength to strength resulting in a renewed multi-year partnership.

That’s why we’ve welcomed Ryan as Head of Claims and SJ as our dedicated Motor Claims Manager, which allows us deliver important oversight to our motor claims service. Together, Ryan and SJ bring a combined 33 years of industry experience. We’ve also expanded our underwriting capability with the appointment of Brenden Anforth as Senior Technical Underwriter for our Motor portfolio.

With these experienced professionals in our team, we’re confident in our ability to deliver the best possible service to you and your clients.

Ryan is an experienced insurance operations leader with over 18 years in the general insurance industry. He brings extensive expertise across property claims, underwriting, and broker operations, and has led high performing teams through some of Australia’s most significant natural catastrophe events.

As Head of Claims, he will oversee claims operations across the combined group of agencies (i.e. Blue Zebra Insurance, SGUA, Allstate and Point), strengthening alignment and ensuring a consistently high quality experience for both brokers and customers.

Ryan is committed to building strong broker partnerships, driving operational excellence, and delivering on the claims promise by supporting customers with professionalism and integrity when it matters most.

SJ brings 15 years of experience in the insurance industry across motor claims, quality assurance, governance, and complex technical leadership. She is known for her collaborative style and her focus on delivering strong operational outcomes and customer centric improvements across national portfolios.

In her new role, she will support and oversee delivery of our end-to-end motor claims operations via our TPA partner, working to ensure consistent, efficient, and positive claims experiences for both brokers and customers. She will partner closely with our broker network, strategic partners, assessors, and suppliers to support smooth service delivery and strong alignment across the value chain. SJ is dedicated to delivering fair, timely, and customer focused claim outcomes, with customers at the heart of every decision.

With over 15 years of experience in underwriting, Brenden is a Senior Technical Underwriter with a strong background across heavy motor fleet, plant & machinery, and niche personal motor risks.

Brenden enjoys the technical side of underwriting, including risk analysis, working through the detail of policy wordings, and understanding how coverage operates in real-world scenarios. He has a natural curiosity and a genuine interest in analysing complex problems and turning them into practical, workable solutions.

In his new role, Brenden will support the continued development of Blue Zebra’s Motor offering, working across complex risks and contributing to the growth of technical underwriting capability as the portfolio evolves.
